After the COVID 19 pandemic strikes, a lot of stress is given on digital learning and online classes but for villagers it’s not sitting back home and learning. A 19-year-old college student, who along with another classmate was on a hillock to get better connectivity for online classes, was attacked by a leopard on Wednesday. The incident took place in South Gujarat when Govind Gamit, a first-year commerce student in Government Arts and Commerce College at Songadh taluka along with his friend Bhavin Gamit stepped out of the house and went to a nearby hillock which is just five minutes away. As they were attending online class, the leopard crept up and attacked them. Visibly frightened Govind narrates the incident.
“I had seven stitches on my left hand. Bhavin and I were shocked at first when we saw the leopard. While I told Bhavin to run to the village to inform others, I stood there facing the leopard thinking that if I also turned my back to it, it would jump on me and kill me. When the animal caught hold of my left hand, I struggled and somehow managed to relieve myself. I was bleeding profusely. The villagers came on time and I was saved.”
