19 more test positive for covid-19 in Meghalaya; active cases fall to 154.

Nineteen more persons have tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday taking the total cases in the state to 13,525.
Director of Health Services (MI) Dr. Aman War said the new cases include 12 from East Khasi Hills district, 06 West Jaintia Hills district and 1 Ri Bhoi district.
Of the 14 persons who recovered from the viral infection, Dr War said 11 are from East Khasi Hills, 01 West Garo Hills, and 02 South West Garo Hills.
So far, the state has detected a total of 13,525 COVID-19 cases out of which 154 are active cases, 13,230 recovered and 141 died.

Dr War said the fatality rate due to COVID-19 is 1.04 percent.

Of the total active cases, East Khasi Hills has 116 positive cases, West Garo Hills 08, East Garo Hills 01, West Jaintia Hills 09, Ri Bhoi 13, South West Garo Hills 0, West Khasi Hills 03, North Garo Hills 01, East Jaintia Hills 02, South West Khasi Hills 0 and South Garo Hills 01.
“Till date, swab samples of 3, 01,969 persons have been tested of which 2,88,444 were found negative,” the senior medical official said.

There are 80,135 entrants from outside the state.
