2 HSPDP MLAs willing to be part of UDP led Regional alliance: Pangniang

President of the Hills State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP) K.P Pangniang said that the two MLAS of the party has asked the United Democratic Party (UDP) to prepare the action plan for forming government without the National People’s Party (NPP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Speaking to media persons, Pangniang said that he was able to talk with the two MLAs of the party and they have asked the UDP and other five political parties to chalk out a plan on how to form a new government.

Pangniang informed that they have asked the UDP to prepare a list of who will lead the state government which includes who will be the chief minister, deputy chief minister and who will be in the cabinet.

“Since the people want a Khasi chief minister, the two MLAs of the HSPDP have asked the UDP and other parties to chalk out the plans on how to move ahead in forming a government without NPP and BJP” said Pangniang.

Pangniang said that the two MLAs of the party will not disobey the party authority and hence they have asked all other parties to come out with plans to form government and if everything is settling, they will come back and sign the papers to support a government without NPP and BJP.

He added that he had personally talked to both MLAs and they have expressed the desire to lend support to any government that will be led by a regional party but one of them must be inducted in the cabinet.

“Everyone are eager to see a Khasi chief minister and a state government led by a regional party and if national parties like Congress and TMC can lend support to such a government, why can’t we, from the HSPDP” said Pangniang.

He added that as of today, both MLAs of the HSPDP are waiting for the UDP and other parties to prepare the list and once everything is settled, they will come out and lend their support to a new non NPP and BJP government.
