The spotlight of nomination on Thursday was on Congress as its four candidates from Ri Bhoi District filed nominations on the third day. Veteran and former Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee President Dr Celestine Lyngdoh who is contesting from Umsning constituency, Charles Marngar Congress candidate from Mawhati, Stanliwis Rymbai congress candidate from Umroi and Rona Khymdeit from Nongpoh field their nominations on Thursday.
Speaking to media persons, Dr Celestine Lyngdoh said despite the mass exodus of party MLAs in the past few years and months, the grand old party has been able to bring in new faces, who he believes, will revive and uplift the party to a new level.
Meanwhile, UDP candidate from Mawryngkneng Dr Osaphi S Jyrwa too filed his nominations.
