472 households to get benefited under Mustem Village Water Supply Scheme


With an aim to provite

Home Minister and the legislator of Amlarem constituency Lahkmen Rymbui, on Friday inaugurated the Water Supply Scheme of Mustem Village, West Jaiñtia Hills which was constructed at a cost of about Rs. 9.13 Crores.

The project was completed in ten months. Informing about this Rymbui tweeted,

Meghalaya at 50: Today INAUGURATED the MUSTEM WATER SUPPLY SCHEME which completed in record time of 10 months @ Rs 91340000/- under RIDF XXV in presence of DP WAHLAH IAS Addl CS. The acute water shortage in the village becomes a history.


Addressing the gathering, Rymbui lauded the villagers for their cooperation which is one of the primary reason why the project could be completed within a short period of time. At the same tune he appreciated the officers and staffs of the Department.

Urging the villagers to take good care of the pipes, the Home Minister said this will help the project to outrun its projected lifespan.

Addl Chief Secretary, DP Wahlang, informed that the scheme was funded under RIDF and will provide Functional Household Tap Connection (FHTC) to 472 households of the village where each household will get an average of 500 litres of water per day.
