BJP Vice President and MDC of Tura Bernard N Marak demanded an immediate inquiry into the alleged shoddy work done by the company constructing the P.A.Sangma stadium.
Marak said, “The company constructing the P A Sangma stadium is a hopeless company because for the second time, the newly constructed wall of the stadium collapsed within a month of its completion.”
Stating that a severe cracks are also visible in the swimming pool and on the basement of the newly constructed structures, the Tura MDC said, “When the first wall collapsed, FIR was filed but Police did not take action against the company and now the second wall has collapsed after the first monsoon rain. Regular wall collapse would one day cause severe loss to innocent lives around the locality.”
He alleged that the people are apprehensive and fear keeps them awake during heavy rain.
The wall was constructed with blocks and not a concrete wall in spite of know the soil is red soil, Marak added.
“Complaint would be sent to the Ministry as soon as the new government is formed in Delhi. The solution to the constant wall collapse would be that there has to be a concrete wall to protect the lose red soil from causing more damage to the structures and the surrounding localities,” he said.
“Shoddy work should be stopped and proper inquiry be conducted to prevent such incidents which would one day take lives. The residents too fear that major accident might occur in the future if the shoddy work remain unchecked by the authorities,” Bernard said.
