From the state government, we really wanted to make sure that this project goes smoothly till the handing over of the land to the NHIDCL for construction of the four lane roads.”

Regarding the Shillong Western Bypass, the deputy CM said that the Ri Bhoi DC had already distributed the compensation funds to the concerned land owners.

“We have already reached about 85%, say around 5-6 % within this week, we will cross 90%. Same way East Khasi Hills DC had informed us that right now they have already handed over the land possession upto 70-75 % and within this week again, they will be able to cross 90%.”

He informed that once handing over of land possession reaches 90%, the NHIDCL will handover these portions of land to the concerned company for immediate construction.
