SHILLONG, JUNE 13: The Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC) today sent 3 youths who are drug users to Alive Again Foundation rehabilitation centre in Assam.
HYC secretary Isaac W Basaiawmoit said that since 2nd May 2024, the council had started its war against drugs in different parts of the state and in the process the council had raided many areas and seized drugs and had also encouraged the youths to stop using narcotics.
In its efforts to encourage the youths to stop using drugs, the council had sent some of them to rehabilitation centres after consultation with the users and their respective families.
Till date the HYC had sent 24 youths to rehabilitation centers to allow them to change themselves.
