Meghalaya Govt effects minor bureaucratic reshuffle

SHILLONG, JUNE 24:  Post Lok Sabha elections, Meghalaya Government has gone for a minor bureaucratic reshuffle in the state.

 

According to a Government notification, East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner SC Sadhu who was posted during the Lok Sabha polls is transferred and RM Kurbah is reappointed as the Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills District

 

Similarly, the state government has transferred Abhilash Baranwal, the Deputy Commissioner of East Jaintia Hills District, Khliehriat, and posted him as Deputy Commissioner, Ri-Bhoi District, Nongpoh.

 

Further, the state government has Transferred Srinivas Awasthi, the Deputy Commissioner of South Garo Hills District, Baghmara, is transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner of East Jaintia Hills District, Khliehriat.

Pilot R. Marak, Senior most Additional Deputy Commissioner, South Garo Hills District, Baghmara shall look after the office of the Deputy Commissioner, South Garo Hills District, Baghmara with effect from the date of taking over charge and until further orders.

 

Meanwhile, in a notification issued on Monday, Sampath Kumar, Principal Secretary incharge Health & Family Welfare will also take charge of Forests & Environment.

 

FR Kharkongor, Commissioner & Secretary incharge Arts & Culture will also look after the Animal Husbandry & Veterinary department while Pravin Bakshi, Commissioner & Secretary incharge Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs will also take charge as Additional Chief Executive Officer, Invest Meghalaya Authority (IMA) under the Planning, Investment Promotion & Sustainable Development department.

 

VK Mantri, Commissioner & Secretary incharge Information & Public Relations department will also look after Education department and Mining & Geology department and as Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Meghalaya Basin Management Agency (MBMA) under the Planning, Investment Promotion & Sustainable Development department.

 

Dr Joram Beda, Commissioner & Secretary incharge Soil & Water Conservation department and Registrar of Societies has been relieved of his functions as Registrar of Societies.

 

RC Sohklet, Secretary incharge Tourism, Sports & Youth Affairs has been relieved of her functions as secretary of Sports & Youth Affairs while RP Marak, Secretary incharge of Mining & Geology and Commissioner of Transport will also function as Director, Mineral Resources.

 

I Laloo, Secretary incharge Agriculture & Farmers Welfare and Director, Sports & Youth Affairs will also take charge as  secretary of Sports & Youth Affairs and as Director, Urban Affairs. She has been relieved as Director, Sports & Youth Affairs.

 

DD Sangma, Additional Secretary incharge Mining & Geology will also function as Commissioner of Transport after being relieved from Health & Family Welfare department and Chief Minister’s Secretariat.

 

R Chitturi, Joint Secretary incharge Finance Department will also function as Joint Chief Executive Officer, Invest Meghalaya Authority (IMA), under the Planning, Investment Promotion & Sustainable Development Department.

 

M Chandra, Joint Secretary incharge Planing, Investment Promotion & Sustainable Development Department will also take charge of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare while DD Shira, Joint Secretary incharge Animal Husbandry & Veterinary will also function as Director, Sports & Youth Affairs and PK Boro, Joint Secretary incharge Urban Affairs has been relieved of his functions as Director, Urban Affairs.
