Stating that the 80 percent of the Ministers in Conrad Sangma ‘s cabinet are from congress, Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee president said if anybody want to return to congress there is a system.
Asked about if Dr Mukul Sangma and others want to join Congress, Pala said, “Congress is like a mother party which allows anybody to join but for certain categories of leaders there are procedures that AICC has to take a call, so there is a system and system will decide who can join.”
Pala further maintained that the politics is changing from time to time.
“Congress is like a platform and people can utilize this platform to get experience,” he added.
Defending the statement of Tura MP Saleng A Sangma that Dr Mukul Sangma and his brother Zenith Sangma is not welcome in Congress, Pala said, “If anybody like who was a chief Minister , or MLA or former cabinet Minister if they join the party, there is a system in it and system will decide we will not discriminate. “
It may be mentioned that there are speculations that Dr. Mukul Sangma and his team will not contest 2028 Assembly Elections from TMC. Some of the leaders have reportedly expressed willingness to return to the party.
