SHILLONG, JULY 15: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is yet to decide on the candidate for the upcoming Gambegre bye election.
“We are going to contest the upcoming bye election to the Gambegre Assembly seat,” BJP leader and cabinet minister AL Hek saidon Monday.
He said that the party is yet to take a call on the selection of the candidate for the bye election.
“I cannot tell you as we have not yet received the application but once we get the application definitely we will zero down to the best candidate,” Hek added.
Asked, Hek however said, “Election is election. We have to fight a tough fight, that’s all I know.”
“BJP is a national party and we are going to fight this election and chances depend on how many candidates applied. Now it’s too early to come to a conclusion,” he added.
