Amid the ongoing unrest in Bangladesh, t he Border Security Forces (BSF) Meghalaya Frontier has heightened security measures along the 444 km stretch of the international Indo-Bangladesh border in Meghalaya to ensure effective border domination and management. This response includes extensive operations to prevent illegal entry and smuggling activities.
IG BSF Meghalaya Harbax Singh Dhillon has emphasized that troops and field commanders are fully aware and vigilant about the ongoing developments in Bangladesh. The situation is being closely monitored, with senior officers and commandants deployed at the border and instructed to remain in mission mode.
All land customs stations and integrated check posts on the international border are on high alert, and civilian movement has been restricted. Additionally, the Meghalaya state government has imposed a night curfew along the entire international border. Enhanced vigilance measures have been implemented in collaboration with the civil administration and local police, with instructions for villagers to remain extra alert.
