Meghalaya Government has announced to immediately construction and renovation of school buildings of 19 number of Upper Primary as well as Secondary schools in the state. Education Minister Rakkam A Sangma said an amount of Rs 33.80 crore has been sanctioned for the construction of 19 SSA schools and RMSA secondary school.
The Education Minister said in 52 schools the toilets, electrification, drinking water, additional class room as well as in some schools teachers quarter will be constructed.
Earlier, Meghalaya News 24 reported that the Education Minister had informed that the state government is committed and has already earmarked a budget to construct new school buildings as well as renovating and repairing dilapidated school buildings within the next two years.
He informed that there are over 2000 plus government lower primary schools and they have been categorized according to their need and requirements.
