Taking cognizance of the statement made by Meghalaya BJP legislator Sanbor Shullai about continuing support to NPP-Led MDA Government, BJP’s Meghalaya in-charge Dr Chuba Ao has asked the party’s president Earnest Mawrie to look into the matter.
Amused by Shullai’s statement, Dr. Ao claimed that the legislator has not discussed it with the party leadership before making any statement.
“ I have seen one statement given by Sanbor shullai, we are discussing how he said and with whose permission he said this,” the BJP state incharge said.
A month after the BJP’s Meghalaya in-charge M Chuba Ao asserted that the party would soon take a call on whether to continue its support to the NPP-led government in the state, following allegations of corruption against the Conrad K Sangma dispensation, Shullai noted that his party will continue to support the National People’s Party (NPP)-led Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) government.
“I have already instructed Mawrie to do that because it is an internal matter and how he came out publicly on it,” Dr. Ao asserted.
Amid rumours of the saffron camp withdrawing support to the coalition in Meghalaya, the BJP leader said the party is awaiting the report from its two legislators in this matter, even as he mentioned that the call will be taken soon.
“We have given our legislators some assignments, two legislators, both of them are working on it after that we will put up this one but till today we haven’t received the assignment replies from them,” he added.
Meanwhile, another BJP legislator AL Hek said BJP is a National party and but it depends on the central leadership to take a call on this.
“We have discussed this many times, we have told many times that the BJP will pull out from the MDA Government but it depends on the central leadership to take a call on this,” Hek said.
Asked, he clarified, “I have said when the decision taken at the state executive , decision taken at the core committee what else do we want more, we will follow the party decision.”
