Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) President Vincent H. Pala announced that the party will offer training to its new candidates in preparation for the upcoming elections to the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) and Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC). Pala emphasized that the training will focus on issues specific to the District Councils, ensuring candidates understand the scope of their roles and avoid overstepping boundaries.

“We are giving training to many of the new candidates, as well as to those at the block level. An MLA’s role is different from that of an MDC. We want our candidates to speak only on what is required and avoid discussing matters that are not relevant,” Pala told Meghalaya News 24.

He further clarified, “We don’t want to blame anyone, but at the same time, we want to concentrate on our issues, our agendas, and the subjects of the District Council without crossing the redline.”
