Tickets for Ed Sheeran’s much-anticipated concert in Shillong, part of his “Mathematics Tour,” sold out in just five minutes after being made available on Wednesday at 4 PM. This rapid sell-out highlights the immense excitement surrounding the global pop sensation’s visit to Meghalaya.
Tourism Minister Paul Lyngdoh commented, “As you might have noticed, he is already a crowd puller and yesterday, all tickets were sold online in five minutes. So it just shows the kind of attraction, the appeal, the strength of Meghalaya’s tourism as a major attractor of these international artists and audiences from around the country.”
The Minister also expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming event, noting the massive success of Bryan Adams’ concert at JN Stadium Polo, which drew a crowd of around 40,000. With Sheeran’s performance scheduled for February 12, 2025, the state government is eagerly preparing for another major milestone in Shillong’s growing reputation as a hub for international music events.
Presale tickets were made available earlier in the week exclusively for select cardholders, while general sales allowed fans to purchase up to six tickets per person. The Shillong concert offers more affordable access compared to other cities on Sheeran’s India tour.
The India leg of the “Mathematics Tour” will begin in Pune on January 30, followed by performances in Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Bengaluru before concluding in Shillong. The JN Stadium will host an unforgettable night of music, marking a significant cultural event for the region.
