United Democratic Party (UDP) leader Paul Lyngdoh on Thursday said, the allegation that some of the UDP MLAs will merge with the NPP is just rumours.
Interestingly, the talk of the town says some of the UDP MLAs are also in talks with NPP after People Democratic Front (PDF) expressed its willingness to merge with the Conrad Sangma led party.
“ I do not pay heed to rumours, I believe in spending time listening to good music,” he said.
When asked, the UDP leader said that all MLAs of the party are intact.
“Yes, they are all intact. Everybody was part of the campaign till yesterday. I am very confident that especially after Sohiong (election), the tally of the UDP will be doubled considering that we had 6 MLAs in the previous House and now it is going to be 12, so it is a 50% jump,” Lyngdoh said.
United Democratic Party leader Paul Lyngdoh has expressed confidence to win the Sohiong seat in the upcoming election to be held on May 10.
Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Lyngdoh said, “We are very confident. We have a very energetic and highly educated candidate (Synshar Kupar Lyngdoh) and those are his USPs. So far, the campaign has been very smooth and so we are very optimistic.”
