The National People’s Party (NPP) on Friday has turned down congress’ offer, refuse to sever ties with the BJP.
Reacting to the statement made by the Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Vincent H Pala, National People’s Party (NPP) national vice president Prestone Tynsong said the present arrangement in MDA II will continue.
Addressing media persons, Tynsong said, “The current dispensation as far as the state government is concerned, we are all intact and we are all committed, we will complete the whole term of 2023 up to 2028. They are our closest friends so we will continue and we will sail together.”
Tynsong said that he has nothing to say on the Congress’ offer to support the NPP-led MDA government without the BJP. He said, “See the present dispensation, the present arrangement made by the MDA-2 will continue till the end of the term.”
Earlier, Congress chief Vincent H Pala said his party is ready to support the NPP-led Meghalaya Democratic Alliance government but without the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Meanwhile, NPP national vice president Prestone Tynsong on Friday the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance-2 government is intact and will complete the full five years term despite toppling the UDP-led EC in the KHADC with the support of the Congress.
The deputy chief minister also asked how the UDP can blame him for toppling the EC when he is not even a nominated member of the council.
“See I am not even a nominated member of the district council, not even a nominated member, so how can UDP blame me that I am the one who toppled the previous EC so please ask from them how could it be Prestone toppled the EC since I am not even a nominated member of the KHADC,” he added.
