Education Minister Rakkam A Sangma on Friday said the regularisation of over 12,000 SSA teachers in the state is beyond the ability of the state Government.
Talking to Meghalaya News 24 in Shillong, Sangma said, there is a huge financial implication associated with the process as the state Government is not in a position to do it.
“The SSA Teachers Association met me today and they expressed their plight and demanded regularisation of their services. The Government is examining the matter but since regularising more than 12,000 SSA teachers is beyond the ability of the state Government as there is huge expenditure involved,” the Education Minister said.
While stating that the state Government will always find ways to support the SSA teachers in the state, he said, time and again the plights of the teachers are being addressed.
“It will have a huge financial burden for the state Government, however, we are not sitting idle, we will leave no stone unturned to work for the interest of our teachers,” Rakkam added.
It may be mentioned that the SSA Teachers Association has submitted a memorandum to Education Minister Rakkam A Sangma on Friday.
