Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Thursday said the law will take its own course of action following the arrest of police officer GK Iangrai.
Speaking to reporters, Sangma said, “(Further) inquiry will take place and the law will take its own course…”
He said there some allegations of mis-utilization of funds and based on an FIR lodged by the police department permission sought was granted by the government to pursue that.
Iangrai, who was former Assistant Inspector General of Police (Administration), was arrested from his residence following a raid on Wednesday.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) CID, Meghalaya O Pasi said a case was registered on October 28 based on the allegation of Misappropriation of funds by GK Iangrai, MPS in the construction of NERS PSAP facility at Sadar PS Complex.
