Sampath Kumar, Principal Secretary, Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Meghalaya today launched the ABDM Scan & Share Implementation at the OPD Registration Block of Ganesh Das MCH Hospital, Shillong. The programme was followed by a live demonstration on the ABDM Scan & Share by the ABDM team and a short orientation programme at the Training Hall of the hospital.
The objective of the ABDM Scan & Share Implementation is to promote digital health services to meet the objective set by the World Health Organization in terms of realizing the Universal Health Coverage to each and every individual throughout the country. The National Health Authority (NHA) through the ABDM has introduced a QR-code based solution in ABDM empanelled facilities to enable patients to scan QR code and share their demographic base on their consent. This process will drastically eliminate the long queue during peak OPD registration time.
