Deputy Chief Minister Incharge Home Prestone Tynsong said Chief Ministers of both Meghalaya and Assam will meet and discuss the prevailing tension between Assam and Meghalaya.
Talking to Meghalaya News 24, Tynsong said the matter has been taken up with the Assam government, and a joint meeting took place to discuss the border skirmishes.
“Now the situation is good and today there was a joint meeting and within this week again both the Chief Minister will sit down and discuss,” Tynsong said.
It may be mentioned that a border Meeting was convened at Lapangap village. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Commission and the Superintendent of Police of both West Jaintia Hills district and West Karbi Anglong District.
The meeting was also attended by border magistrates of both the districts and village representatives of both Meghalaya and Assam.
The meeting deliberated upon various parameters to bring back peace and normalcy in the area.
