Chairman of the Meghalaya State Planning Board (MSPB) Metbah Lyngdoh on Wednesday directed the four departments including police, PWD, urban affairs and transport, to provide a detailed presentation with solutions to the problem of traffic congestion faced by Shillong city.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Lyngdoh said the issue was taken up and after discussion, several decisions have been arrived at.
“We have asked the four departments to provide a detailed presentation with regard to the traffic congestion in Shillong and come up with solution to the problem,” Lyngdoh said
Lyngdoh said that no time frame has been given to prepare their respective presentation but the board has directed them to complete the task at the earliest.
The chairman has also sought a comprehensive report from the power department on the power scenario in the state.
He said that discussion was also held in regards to the agriculture sector in the state and the need to come up with ways and means to improve the income generation of the people in the rural areas of the state.
