Health Minister Dr M Ampareen Lyngdoh on Wednesday visited the Community Health Centre in Riangdo and interacted with the Doctors, Nurses and also technicians working there on the various issues faced by them. Dr. Lyngdoh was accompanied by Hamletson Dohling, Macmillan Byrsat, Gigur Myrthong, Dr Jasmine Lyngdoh, Ransom Sutnga.
During her interaction, the Health Minister expressed concern on the high mortality rate and said the state Government with its scheme MOTHER – Meghalaya’s State Health Policy (For achieving Measurable Outcomes in Transforming Health sector through a holistic approach with focus on women’s EmpoweRment) is trying to bring down the mortality rate to zero.
She asked the doctors to help women in labour and try to give delivery in hospital under correct supervision and guidance so that the mother does not face any complications.
The Minister further directed the officials present to provide a list of equipment needed to further improve the healthcare facility in the area.
Dr. Lyngdoh was also invited as the Chief guest at the celebration of the New Year “Ong I Maiñ” held in Rambrai this evening organized by Jo Thong Channel and Friends. The event was sponsored by Mr Bajop Pyngrope MDC Rambrai Jyrngam and the NPYF Working President.
