Senior BJP leader and cabinet minister for Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department, Alexander Laloo Hek, was conferred with the Dadasaheb Phalke Icon award.
The award was handed over by Union Minister of State for social justice, Ramdas Athawale at an impressive ceremony held at the NDMC Auditorium, Jantar Mantar, New Delhi in presence of several dignitaries.
Hek was awarded the best minister and social worker in recognition of his tireless service to the people of Meghalaya and for his contribution to the nation as a whole.
This accolade conferred only confirms what state BJP has been saying all along – AL Hek is the best choice for the people of Meghalaya and the citizens can look up to him for guidance, solutions and all round development, proof of which he has provided over and over again during a political career spanning two decades. His diligent efforts to bring improved amenities to people and create all round development are well known. Any wonder then, that the people of his constituency repeatedly reiterate their faith in him at the ballot box?
When contacted, Hek said, “The Dadasaheb Phalke award is an honour that leaves me touched and strengthens my resolve to work even harder for the benefit of my state and country.”
