SHILLONG, FEB 19: Minister in-charge Education Rakkam A Sangma on Monday informed the Assembly that there has been no complaint received in regards to nine schools not receiving rice quota under the mid-day meal scheme.
“This should not have happened but we did not get any official complaint. However, we will take up (the matter),” Sangma said.
MLA Rupa M Marak said that he has received complaints from nine schools that they have not received the quota of rice. He requested the minister to take action on this.
Marak also wanted to now the measures taken against poor implementationo of the mid-day meal scheme and to ensure good quality food is being provided to the students.
The miniser said as far as the quality of rice is concerned, the best food is served to the students. The deputy commissioners (supply), FCI and wholesalers are following due process for distributing the mid-day meal to all schools.
