Deputy Chief Minister Incharge of District Council Affairs Prestone Tynsong on Tuesday said the state Government is willing to bail out both Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) as well as Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC) in terms of pending salaries to the employees.
Talking to mediapersons, Tynsong said that the matter will be discussed during the ongoing budget session of Meghalaya Legislative Assembly.
“Employees in both Garo Hills autonomous District council as well as Jaintia Hills autonomous district council are not getting their salaries, now from the Government side we are working out. I have already discussed with the CM, CM will speak during the current budget session,” the Deputy Chief Minister said.
Asked about royalty share, he said, “These are all the ongoing processes and it’s not necessary that at the end of every financial year you have to clear it all. Depending upon the collection and then after that deduction and then adjustment here and there and then rest will be released to the respected district council.”
Asked, Tynsong further informed that the delimitation committee hasn’t submitted the report.
“They sought time for another six months and on the basis of that only we recommended to the governor for the extension of term of both KHADC and JHADC,” he added.
