The Meghalaya TMC leaders including the party’s state president Charles Pyngrope and Parliamentary Party Leader Dr Mukul Sangma are likely to visit Kolkata on March 9th that is on Saturday for an emergent meeting of the party.
A day before the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) Mega rally at Kolkata’s Brigade Parade grounds, this meeting with the state leadership assumes significance as the TMC is likely to announce the candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls during the Mega rally.
“We will be visiting Kolkata on March 9th, where we will have a meeting with the TMC leadership there,” Meghalaya TMC source said.
The rally will be attended by AITC Chairpersons and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and AITC national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee.
Meanwhile, the All India Trinamool Congress on Thursday constituted Meghalaya Pradesh Trinamool Congress Election Committee under the Chairmanship of state TMC president Charles Pyngrope for the upcoming General elections.
While the remaining four MLAs including Parliamentary Party leader Dr. Mukul Sangma, Miani D Shira, Rupa M Marak, Dr Mizanur Rahman Kazi as the members.
Miani D Shira is also made the secretary of the committee.
Apart from legislators, the Member of District Council from Garo Hills Cherak Momin and of District Council from Jaintia Hills Andrew Shullai also appointed in the newly formed committee.
Meghalaya TMC Vice President James Lyngdoh and Jayanta Sen also were accommodated.
