‘A bad dancer blaming the dance floor’: Dr. Mukul on Govt’s blame game

Leader of Opposition Mukul Sangma on Tuesday said the National People’s Party-led Meghalaya Democratic Alliance government is like a bad dancer blaming the dancing floor.

He was reacting to the blame game resorted to by the Conrad K Sangma-led government while replying to various issues inside the House during the ongoing budget session of the Assembly.  Often the Government puts the blame on either legacy or the erstwhile Congress Government.

“It is something like a bad dancer blaming the dance floor,” Mukul told reporters.

It may be mentioned here that the House has witnessed heated debates on various issues, particularly on the power sector.

He said whenever an issue or instant which is perceived as irregularity is there, it is expected that the authority concerned or the government of the day will respond immediately and take stock of things and take course correction in the best interest of the state.

“When I see the response of the government while interacting with the press or responding to the issues raised by the members in the House, I see that whole intent of the government does not reflect from what they reply that they want to just tell everyone that everything is alright and at the same time, divert the whole narrative and conversation but the fact is that everyday things are coming out in the media,” Mukul said.
