SHILLONG, JULY 24: The State Secretary of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Meghalaya, Tengku M. Marak on Wednesday welcomed the Union Budget presented by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on 23 July 2024. This budget highlights the Narendra Modi government’s clear priorities in various crucial sectors.
Education has been given notable importance, with FM Sitharaman emphasizing right at the outset that this Budget has a direct focus on “employment, skilling, MSMEs, and the middle class.” In the opening remarks of her speech, the finance minister announced a substantial allocation of Rs 1.48 lakh crore for education, employment, and skilling, with Rs 1.25 lakh crore specifically earmarked for education.
The ABVP, Meghalaya, State Secretary, appreciates this significant commitment towards education and the empowerment of the youth. This allocation is expected to enhance educational infrastructure, improve the quality of education, and expand skilling initiatives, thereby creating better employment opportunities for the young population.
He mentioned that he believes this Budget will greatly contribute to the holistic development of students and the overall growth of the nation. ABVP, Meghalaya, stands in strong support of these initiatives and looks forward to their effective implementation.
