Active COVID-19 cases decline in Meghalaya

Meghalaya has seen a consistent decline in active Covid-19 cases, with an increasing number of recovery cases reported in the state.

With one fresh case and 13 new recoveries, the total number of active cases in the state stands at 26.

Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War said the only a single case was detected in the East Khasi Hills district.

Dr War informed that 13 patients have also recovered from the viral infection including 9 from West Jaintia Hills district, 2 East Khasi Hills district, 1 East Jaintia Hills district and 1 West Khasi Hills district.

So far, the total caseload in the state is 13,952 COVID-19 cases out of which 26 are active cases, 13,778 recovered and 148 deaths.

East Khasi Hills has 23 active cases, West Jaintia Hills 1, East Jaintia Hills 1 and West Khasi Hills 1.

On the other hand, of the 3,60,092 persons who have tested for COVID-19 in the state as on date, 3,46,140 were tested negative for the virus even as 5 persons are in institutional quarantine and 21 under home quarantine.

There are 92,209 entrants from outside the state.
