The All Garo Hills SSA School Teachers’ Association (AGHSSASTA) Central Body (CB) has expressed disappointment and dissatisfaction over the delay in release of two months SSA Teachers’ salary only for Selsella block.
In a press statement, the Association said, that the salaries for the months from January to February 2023 is not paid to the SSA teachers under for Selsella block.
Disbursement of salaries by the State Education Mission Authority of Meghalaya (SEMAM), SPD office Shillong to all the districts of Meghalaya is done on time.
“Almost all the SSA Teachers of different districts and blocks of Meghalaya are paid-up their salaries during the time of disbursement directly to their personal account from the SPD office SEMAM Shillong since last two weeks,” the statement said.
The statement further said, “Despite being submitted all the necessary Teachers’ data and formats asked by the concerned authorities to the district and block authorities under Selsella Block, salaries of SSA Teachers for Selsella Block are being stuck and delayed till date, whereas all the teachers of other districts have received their own salaries.”
“ The SSA Teachers of Selsella Block are collected a sum of Rs. 200/-(two hundred) per teacher in the name of data collections by Block Mission coordinator (B.M.C) and accountant before disbursement of salaries,” the statement added.
They also informed that when they asked about the collection for the same from other districts and block authorities none of the authorities of other districts of Meghalaya collected the same, because there was no official order or permission from the higher authorities of the education department to collect the donations from the SSA Teachers.
“We the AGHSSASTA – Central body (C.B) failed to know as to how the concerned block accountant and B.M.C can collect the donation only from the teachers of Selsella Block without any official order or permission from higher authorities of the Education department. Therefore we the AGHSSASTA-CB asked the concerned higher authority to look into the matter and initiate the actions against the illegal acts or unauthorized collections,” it said.
“However the SSA Teachers of Selsella Block are neglected and ignored by the concern authorities of Selsella Block in early release of our salary because of their negligence and insensitivity of the official works and due to which the SSA Teachers of Selsella Block are facing a lot of problems and hardships in getting our salaries in our personal account,” it added.
AGHSSASTA – CB have also submitted a memorandum of complaint to the State Project Director (SPD) of SSA-SEMAM, Shillong and concerned authorities regarding the delay of their pending salaries to their personal account
