Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Friday announced that all the 3 units of Ganol Hydro Powerplant are now synchronized with the grid, raising the estimated annual production to 65MU.
Sangma said, “This marks a significant milestone in our journey towards self-sufficiency of power.”
The long-awaited 22.5 MW Ganol Hydro Power Project near Tura in West Garo Hills was inaugurated earlier this year.
The foundation of this first hydel power project in Garo Hills was laid way back in 2014.
