Formed a month ago, the NPP led Meghalaya Democratic Alliance Government is under pressure from its alliance partners on the issue of having a common minimum programme. While the MDA Government between 2018-23 did not frame the Common minimum programme, the need was felt during the present regime of MDA 2.0.
Senior BJP legislator and cabinet Minister AL Hek said, “Since the MDA 2.0 is already in the system, we all the political parties working under the MDA 2.0 should start initiating the common minimum program now.”
BJP plans to take it up in the next MDA meeting.
“ In the next MDA meeting we should insist that the Common minimum problem has to be there. BJP is one of a tiny party in the MDA Government, whatever we have in our mind, whatever we have in our manifesto , whatever we have in our party ideology, we should include whatever possible in the Common minimum program,” the BJP leader added.
Meanwhile, UDP Chief Metbah Lyngdoh said the party will take up with the chief minister Conrad K Sangma once he comes back as of now he is out of station.
“Chief Minister is very busy completing the process of different appointments and notifications to be issued and as of now he is out of station, once he comes back we will address those issues,” Lyngdoh said.
