Ampareen on CGHS rate

Health Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh on Tuesday informed that the state government of Meghalaya is adopting the CGHS rate as recommended by the Administrative Rules and Regulations, Revision Advisory Committee Meghalaya in the Amendment process of MMA Rules 2021 which is being followed by the central government where all the detailed procedure/laboratory investigations and rates are available and listed whereas, the state government has limited approved rates till date.

Replying in the Assembly, Lyngdoh said the CGHS rate is lower than the rates of the hospitals so all hospitals likely do not agree with those rates and disparity is about 70%.

“We have written to these hospitals but till now there has been no positive response (from their end),” the minister added.

According to her, currently only the North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health & Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) is implementing the CGHS rates in the state.
