In an ambush in Arunachal Pradesh’s Changlang district on Sunday an Assam Rifles Jawan was martyred while another injured.
The incident took place at Tengmo village under Jairampur police station of Changlang district, around 300 km from capital Itanagar. According to highly placed sources in the intelligence agencies, the incident occurred at 9.40 am on Sunday.
Confirming the news an Assam Rifles source in Shillong said, “It is true that this morning the water tanker they were travelling in was ambushed. We are yet to get full details; however, one jawan was martyred while another was injured.”
“The suspected militants targeted the water tanker by detonating multiple Improvised Explosive Device (IED),” an Intelligence source said.
A search operation is underway to find the insurgents after the attack in the Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh.
