SHILLONG, JUNE 3: The A-chik Student Welfare Association (ASWA) urged Director of School Education and Literacy, Swapnil Tembe to release the pending DA arrears and salaries for the Ad-hoc ME School teachers.
In the letter to the director, the association informed that since March, the ME school teachers in Dadenggre areaa had not receive their salaries and DA arrears.
“Teachers play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our students. They dedicate their lives to educating the youth and ensuring that students achieve success in their academic pursuits. However, without timely payment of their dues, teachers faces significant financial challenges that impede their ability to perform their duties effectively” said the association.
The association informed that there was a letter from the director’s office had written to the Sub Divisional Education Officer (SDEO), dated May 7, 2024, which sanctioned an amount of Rs 37,58,519 for the payment of DA arrears.
“Despite this, the teachers have yet to receive their due payments. Could you please clarify the reason for this delay and ensure that the payments are processed without further delay” urged the ASWA.
