Scoffing at Chief Minister Conrad Sangma for his claims about the demand of Ernest Mawrie ouster as Meghalaya BJP chief, the state BJP leadership said it’s the internal matter of the BJP and NPP leader should not interfere.
He even pointed out the internal matters of a party should not be discussed with any other party leaders. Asked about CM’s claim of legislators discussing the removal of state BJP chief, Mawrie said “The internal matters of BJP has to be discussed within the party and not with the CM or with the other party.”
Reacting to CM’s claim, state BJP President Ernest Mawrie said, “I am very surprised since when has he (Conrad Sangma) became the spokesperson of our party? because he is the National President of NPP and he (Conrad Sangma)  is claiming that more than half of the party Karyakartas have reported to him about my removal.”
“ I don’t know whom did he met? He met to our Party Karyakartas or someone else it has surprised me. So I asked this question to him when he claimed so many whether he met our party members or somebody else?” Mawrie asked.
Earlier, the Chief Minister has claimed that almost half of the BJP leaders in Meghalaya including the two legislators are all in favour of ousting Ernest Mawrie as the state president of the party, the Meghalaya BJP chief said it is BJP’s internal matter and not NPP’s matter.
Asked about CM speaking to BJP Central leadership about the style of functioning of Mawrie, he said, “How can he interfere our party, this is the matter of the BJP, not NPP, whatever the case it is our Party matters, it’s not NPP matters.
Mawrie further said that if BJP high command is not happy with him they will give him necessary instruction even as not such instruction is given by the central leadership of BJP.
“ I still stand with my statement we are having zero-tolerance against corruption, I have raised up the matter of corruption,  if my party high command is not happy with the matter they will give me the instruction or necessary advice at the right time,” the state BJP chief said.
Asked about CM’s claim of legislators discussing the removal of state BJP chief, he said “The internal matters of BJP has to be discussed within the party and not with the CM or with the other party.”
Stating that the series of corruption charges raised by the state BJP made the Chief Minister uncomfortable, he said, “I am not against anybody, I don’t have any personal enmity with anyone but only thing is that because I raise so many corruption issues, it seems that the CM was nervous because of the issues I am raising so if he says that he is clean so let him come with the proof.”
