BJP state president Ernest Mawrie on Wednesday said the party will leave it to the wisdom of the state government to resolve the issue related to the implementation of the roster system.
Speaking to media persons, Mawrie said, “We will leave it to the wisdom the state government to take a call on the matter in the upcoming Cabinet meeting.”
He said the party is waiting for the All-party meeting to be convened by the chief minister for discussion on the roster system.
Mawrie said that the BJP would prefer sticking with the state reservation policy which has been implemented since Meghalaya attained its statehood, “Our stand is that all the three tribes – Khasi, Jaintia and Garo should not have any loophole but all should have equal representation.”
