Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister Mukul Sangma hit back at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for claiming that it will wipe out the Congress in Meghalaya.
The statement was made by BJP national general secretary Arun Singh during his recent visit to Shillong for reviewing the party’s organizational activities and addressing party karyakartas.
When asked, Sangma said that Singh’s statement was well scripted and that the BJP’s rhetoric will continue.
“It is their job as if they don’t speak what they are asked to speak, they will be jobless. He (Singh) was speaking what he was asked to speak…so it was more like a parrot speaking,” he stated.
On his recent visit to Delhi, Sangma informed that he had a quick trip to the national capital since there are many pending works particularly in respect to party affairs, organizational matters that are required to be discussed.
“We had an exhaustive review of the organizational matters. Many things are required to be done as we are preparing for the run up for the elections…,” he said.
