Diwali, popularly known as the “Festival of Lights”, signifies the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, knowledge over ignorance, and hope over despair.
During these dark days of the Pandemic, the Border Security Force along with the rest of the country celebrated the festival inside the campus as well as at the International Border of Meghalaya as the maximum of them could not go to their home owing to the pandemic to celebrate the festival with their family.
“Every year as practice in vogue, the member of `Marwadi Sammelan Mahila Samiti’ Shillong visit BSF Frontier HQ at Umpling on the eve of `Diwali ’ and `Raksha Bandhan’ in recognition of the efforts of Sentinels of Border to show their affection to the jawans of Border Security Force. Hover, this year, due to COVID 19 pandemic, the situation is not the same,” the BSF in a press statement appreciated the kind gesture of the members of `Marwadi Sammelan Mahila Samiti’ Shillong who always stood by the warriors.
“BSF also wants to assure the residents of Meghalaya that the border is safe in the hands of their BSF brother who are on the duty in the national interest and guarding the Indo-Bangladesh Border round the clock,” BSF said. EOM
