BSF hands over Bangladesh minor to BGB


The Border Security Force (BSF) Meghalaya handed over one Bangladeshi minor boy, who was apprehended by troops of 55 Bn BSF in bordering area of South Garo Hills district to Border Guard Bangladesh as part of its good will gesture. The 17 year old boy is the resident of Mymensing, Bangladesh.

He was intercepted by BSF while roaming inside Indian Territory after inadvertently crossing International Boundary.

He was searched by BSF troops but nothing objectionable was found from his possession. The minor was handed over to Border Guard Bangladesh during a meeting sought by BGB  on 19th May 2022

Inderjit Singh Rana, Inspector General, BSF, Meghalaya Frontier in his statement said that, “Both the border guarding forces have developed an understanding on such subjects and these issues are amicably resolved to strengthen the existing relationship and to enhance mutual trust between both the neighboring countries.”
