SHILLONG, AUG 20: Three Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended along with three Indian facilitators from along the Indo-Bangla border in West Jaintia Hills District.
The incident took place on Monday when the BSFsuccessfully thwarted the infiltration attempt during a well-planned operation.
“Three Bangladeshi nationals(02 male & 01 female), along with three Indian facilitators, were apprehended,” the BSF said.
Amidst the ongoing unrest and deteriorating law and order situation in Bangladesh, BSF Meghalaya has heightened surveillance and intensified border domination along the Indo-Bangladesh border to prevent illegal crossings and ensure national security, it said.
The apprehended illegal Bangladeshi migrants and their Indian accomplices, have been handed over to the concerned police station for further legal action.
