In a crucial operation along the Indo-Bangladesh border, the Border Security Force (BSF) Meghalaya foiled an illegal border crossing on Tuesday night, apprehending four Bangladeshi nationals along with an Indian driver in East Khasi Hills.
Acting on intelligence inputs, troops of the 4th Battalion intercepted a Maruti Alto car at GRIEF Morh during a routine search. Their swift response led to the capture of the group before they could cross into Bangladesh through unauthorized routes.
Preliminary interrogation revealed that the detainees, all residents of Narayanganj, Bangladesh, had illegally entered India months ago and were working as tailors in Bangalore. Attempting to return to Bangladesh through illicit means, they were caught before reaching the border.
Following standard protocol, the BSF handed over the apprehended individuals and the seized vehicle to Pynursla Police Station for further investigation and legal action.
