Some unknown miscreants broke open the window of the State Bank Of India, Umiam , ICAR branch and attempted to loot the bank.
In the process they damaged the CCTV and ransacked the Bank branch.
Informing this Superintendent of Police, Ri Bhoi District, Jagpal Singh Dhanoa said, “In this connection preliminary enquiry is conducted and the Finger print experts from CID have been called.”
He further said, the burglars failed to open the lockers where the money was kept.
It is also informed that the matter came to light on Monday Morning when the staffs of the SBI, Umiam branch reached the office and immediately informed the police from Umiam Police Station for immediate enquiries.
Soon the Crime Branch arrived at the spot for conducting the investigation.
Police said three miscreants went inside the bank.
“No loss of property reported,” the SP said.
