The state government on Tuesday approved the amendment of the Meghalaya Health Service Rules.
Speaking to reporters after the cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma said with this,
the Meghalaya Medical Service Recruitment Board has also been included in the Rules so that the board can function and can conduct the necessary exams and recruitments for the vacancies of different doctor posts in the state.
Sangma also informed that the National Human Rights Commission has directed different state governments that there needs to be compensation on account of death of prisoners. “Hence based on the NHRC direction, the cabinet today has approved this compensation and this will also be notified,” he said.
