Meghalaya cabinet on Tuesday approved setting up of a search committee headed by Chief Secretary who will be entrusted with the responsibility to look for experts to be part of the five-member Expert Committee to review the Reservation Policy.
Informing this, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said, the three member search committee is asked to look for the Experts as soon as they can.
“The state Government has also as per the notification that was put to put up an Expert Committee for the Review of the Reservation Policy, the Government has decided that Chief Secretary and one member from the Law Department and one member from the Personnel Department- a three member Search Committee has been put up to look for experts who will be part of the Expert Committee,” Sangma said.
Stating that the Chief Secretary headed committee will start their work immediately, the Chief Minister said, “hopefully they will give the names to the government at the earliest”.
“It was recommended that this should be a five member committee and should have experts from different fields as was mentioned in the notification,” he added.
