Candle light vigil; signature campaign organised at Mawlai


Demanding justice for the former HNLC leader Cherishterfield Thangkhiew who was killed in an encounter on August 13, hundreds of people gathered at Mawlai on Friday evening to take part in the candle light vigil organised by ‘Ka sur ki nong Mawlai’ (Voice of the people of Mawlai).

People from all walks of life participated in the protest as the slogans condemning the MDA Government and also the state police echoes to every nooks and corner of the area.

Many people were seen waving their mobile phone torchlight.

Earlier, “Ka Sur Ki Nong Mawlai” (the voice of Mawlai people)  organised a signature campaign at Mawlai bus stop  on Friday demanding immediate suspension of the cops involve in the encounter of former HNLC leader Cheristerfield Thangkhiew on August 13 last.
