Capacity Building Training for Muga adopted Seed Rearer-20201 organised

Central Silk Board, Muga Eri Silkworm Seed Organization, Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India organized Capacity Building Training for Muga adopted Seed Rearer-20201 from 7th December 2021 to 11th December 2021 at P-4 Seed Station, Mendipathar, North Garo Hills, Meghalaya.

A total of 20 silk unemployed youth and some progressive Muga farmer from North Garo Hills and Goalpara district attended the training programme.

Z.J Sangma (MCS) , Addl. D.C. North Garo Hills, Meghalaya, was the Chief Guest of this inaugural ceremony of this training programme.

The chief guest Shri Sangma release technology booklet for this training programme and he also  told that how Muga culture helps our farmers improve their livelihood. Shri P. Borpuzar, Scientist-D & Head ,CSB, MESSO, Guwahati presided over this inaugural programme and  told that Sericulture  can generate employment and through muga culture Central Silk Board, ,Ministry of Textiles, Govt of India takes a major role for conducting the various training programme for the socio economic development of the farmers.

He urged the  sate administration for P3 rearing to solve the seed cocoon problem during unfavorable seasons. He was hopeful that traditionally practiced muga culture will definitely improve economic status of Garo Hills and generate new employment opportunities

. Apart from , S.G Momin, DSO North Garo Hills, Dr. Lopamudra Guha, Scientist-C, MESSO, Guwahati, &  Shri Vikram Kumar, Scientist-B, Messo ,Rompara was present at this opening ceremony.

During the Technical Session Dr. Guha and Vikram Kumar  took their classes and  gave valuable advice to the farmers.

Mahasankar Majumdar Scientist-B & OIC, CSB, MESSO,P 4 Unit, Mendipatha & training Coordinator told that during selection of Trainee they emphasize on next generation of progressive farmers that they can continue the Muga culture in a right way.  He also discussed about the quality measure done in his P-4 unit, Mendipathar.  Majumdar also told that after completion the training certificate will given to the trainee.

The programme was followed by a technical programme  where different scientists from Central Silk Board will come and give their valuable lecture to the trainee.
