The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has agreed to provide training to teachers and assist the Education department to introduce the NCERT textbooks in the schools across Meghalaya.
Education Minister Rakkam A Sangma on Monday said he had recently met the chairperson of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in New Delhi.
The meeting was also attended by adviser to the education department HM Shangpliang and officials from the DERT.
He said that the State has requested the CBSE to assist the education department to introduce the NCERT textbooks in the schools across the state.
“The CBSE authority has promised that they will provide training to our teachers. We will be sending some teachers of our state to Delhi for training and they will also be coming to the state to give training and to assist the education department,” Sangma said.
